The little church built by Sister John Joseph and her dedicated workers is now a permanent memorial to the incredible sacrifices of the zealous priests, sisters, brothers, and laypeople who envisioned a Catholic Church in the Bellview area.
Here is the favorite prayer of the parishioners commemorating the Anniversary of the Dedication and First Mass at St. Anne Parish-Bellview.
"Let Go"
If you want to be healthy morally, mentally and physically just learn to let go. Let go of the little annoyances of everyday life, the irritations and the petty vexations that cross your path daily. Don't take them up to nurse them, to pet them, and to brood over them. They are not worthwhile. So learn to let them go.
That little hurt you got from your friend doesn't matter. Perhaps it was intended, perhaps it wasn't intended, but what difference, let it go. Refuse to think about it.
Let go that feeling of hatred you have for another, that jealousy, that envy, that malice, let them all go. Sweep them out of your mind, and you will be surprised what a cleansing and rejuvenating effect it will have upon you, both physically and mentally. Let them all go; for you house them at deadly risk.
But the big troubles, the bitter disappointments, the deep wrongs and the heartbreaking sorrows, the tragedies of life, what about them? Just learn to let them go, too. Drop them softly maybe, but surely. Put away all regret and bitterness, and let sorrow be only a softening influence. Yes, let them go, too, and make the most of the future.
Then, that little pet ailment you have been hanging on to and talking about, let it go! It will be good riddance. You have treated it royally, but abandon it and let it go. Talk about health instead, and health will come. Quit nursing that pet ailment, and let it go.
It is not hard to let go once you get used to the habit of learning to let things go. You will find it such an easy way to get rid of the things that mar and embitter your life that you will enjoy letting them go. You will find the world such a beautiful place to live in and you will be free to enjoy it, free both in mind and body.
Learn to let go. As you value health of body and peace of mind, learn to let go, just simply let go!
The greatest factor in helping us to "Let Go" is to see these things with the eye of faith that since God is in the driver's seat, He knows what's best for us, that God permits, if He does not will, these daily, even hourly annoyances. If we look at them in the light of eternity, we shall profit by them in this life and in the life to come.
So learn to Let Go, Let Go, Let Go now. Wise men have learned to adjust themselves to this universe over which God rules with infinite wisdom and infinite love. It is the first condition of sanity to believe that God knows what's best for us and we need simply to trust Him. As St. Teresa reminds us, "No matter how dark the clouds may become, the sun is still shining." All will pass as the clouds will pass, if we can only "Let Go."
